Dean Gervais 5 Months ( well almost? )

Pure Spec Madness!!!!!!!!! In Edmachuck

So Me, Nick and Fiona all hopped in my truck for a" three hour tour.... a three hour tour" to Edmonton for a small convention called Pure Spec. The Guys went last year and it looked like fun. Low and behold I am an idiot and I mistaken the Pop Culture Festival for this one. I was pleasantly surprised and It was a great trip.I got time to draw some zombie sketches that were long overdue, learn some awesome comic coloring skills in photoshop and Saw some hilarious sketch competitions all thanks to Jay from Happy Harbor Comics in Edmonton. I took a couple of good shots of the show,dance and the competition. A video is being worked on but no deadline for this yet.

A Long Time Comming

SO I recently did some art tests for a company and came up with some great characters in the process. I really enjoyed the progression of the Characters. Thanks To Steve R, my former instructor and his Rule of Design, beaten into my head.I ended up with

Hello everyone, this is my huge announcement to the world . This is My son Dean Jaxon Gervais, he was born on June 15, 2008 at 10:59 AM and I couldn't be happier, I love him so much, I never thought I could love someone as much as I do. OK I know every new parent says that cliche' and the old "the most cute baby in the world", but just look and tell me he's not !! I can't wait to teach him lessons in life and how to shave and all the stuff a Dad should teach his son (I know shaving is a little premature but hey look at my chin) I want to draw a montage of him and show the world when I finally get some time to myself. I am busy with helping my beautiful wife to recuperate and rest after the delivery.

the Calgary comic con of the living dead !!!

OK, so here are some pics of the most successful show we have done. The Calgary Comic convention was so awesome, I had a blast drawing people as zombies and can't wait to finish the rest of the sketches for people I couldn't finish due to the camera dying. I apologize I couldn't update my blog due to my computer being sick and needing a refresh. So here you go enjoy !

We have Arrived

OK so here is how it went down today. Jenn and myself left the city of Calgary to come to the beautiful burg of Banff . We ahh... almost missed it because me and Jenn were gabbing away and what happens when you have two people with the gift of gab,well lets just say we made it to Lake Louise and realized we missed the turn off hahahah. So we turned around and headed back to Banff. We even go lost in Banff. So we found the right road down and drove by these little wooden Porta Potties looking huts and Jenn said "I hope we aren't staying in those, but we found the Registration office and were able to check in and drive over to the Lloyd Hall in the Banff Centre. I was surprised when I opened the door to my Hotel style room I was expecting so much less. Nice room with two beds an desk with a TV on the dresser and Coffee Maker on a round sitting table.
I think I will be Ok I really think I am going to learn so much here. Check back here for more pics and stories .

AKIIIIIIIRA!!!!!!!!! Movie scene Challenge

Ok I missed a couple of days with my daily sketches, but I had good reason. I had a meeting with a new group that is joining together to help with people that don't have the funds for comic conventions and getting started with there first comic. Also me and Ronnie went out and bought our baby to be a bedroom suite. So here is my first challenge drawn. The challenge was draw a favorite scene from any movie, I choose AKIRA I love this movie it has everything. OK check it out and let me know what you think.

Ok, I know I already fell off the wagon... but I really did have some new sketches.We all drew in class again like the first sketch pulled some names from a hat and Whalla ! instant ideas for your sketching needs. I must have started something cause Steve (Instructor ) got into the mix and loved it! Ok Here they are two for the price of one hahahahahah. I will have some more for tomorrow.

Daily Doodle Super Pope

Ok, here is my first Doodle.I did this drawing with my class today. We all wrote three things on separate pieces of paper and put them into a cap then drew three objects and drew from them. What a kick ass time doing this so I will definitely be doing this again.
